Aila Bandagi
I am a Hyderabadi feminist geographer working at the intersection of feminist, transportation, and infrastructure geographies in the urban majority world (or the global South), especially in South India. Currently a PhD student in geography department, Masters student in gender, race, and identity department, and working as a teaching assistant (human geography and geo-technology) at the University of Nevada, Reno.

I am an India Urban Fellow from the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, have a masters in Development Studies and a Bachelors in social sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad.

My research is motivated by a personal need to make urban transportation responsive to the needs of women. I believe in embracing the messiness of research, and our cities and use creative methods to find answers to my questions. I enjoy doing comparative research work and am always looking for collaborations!
